Heated Snow Melting Mats

The mat arrived and has been working like a champ. The mat is able to keep up and melt snow under most weather conditions. Currently it's 19 degrees outside and snowing lightly and the mat is melting the snow without issue. Let me tell you it's so nice coming out in the morning to a cleared front step. My first step gets both direct snow and snow falling from the roof so it always iced up before the purchase.

The mat is plenty rugged and has survived my battering it with my poly-blade snow shovel. As the snow melts it creates water. That water will evaporate eventually but cold air doesn't hold a lot of moisture. That can lead to ice forming around the edges. A pop on the ice cracks it and off it goes.

So far the local fauna, deer, rabbit, mice, and shrews, haven't taken an interest in the mat nor the wires but nonetheless, come spring I'll store the mat.

Great product! Non-slip heated mat to keep snow and ice clear. Does not get hot; just stays warm enough to keep snow from sticking. Important for my Mom because the snow would pile against her front door and she could not open it to get out of the house. We have it hooked through smart plugs and let Alexa run the mats. Mats seem expensive until you compare them to a broken hip or worse. Love the product!

Our senior dog needs to be carried out to do his business now. So to be safe we purchased these iToolMax mats for the back steps. This was the first good normal snowfall test and they worked great. Nothing to clear on the steps.

When I first laid these pads out I thought they didn't work! I took pictures to post of them covered in snow. Well, it turns out that once you make sure that everything is plugged in tight, they actually work! We have a spot right where the first pad is, where water drips down from melting icicles, then refreezes on the walkway. This solves that problem.

We got two feet of snow this weekend in West Michigan. I read the reviews over and over again, because these pads are not cheap. But we are older and they made sense. We bought a step and one mat to try them out, and loved them. We decided to run mats from the front door to the plowed driveway, and bought more. They melt the ice, as well as snow.

We have a north-facing house in Colorado. The walkway to the front door is a continual problem. It’s not unusual to have ice 2-3 inches thick as snow slowly melts from the roof, accumulates on concrete and then re-freezes. It’s an issue all winter and a significant safety issue. We’ve tried salt, chipping it away, etc. I bought one mat to see if it would address the problem and it’s worked beautifully! I plan to get two more to keep the full length of the walkway clear. I’m excited to add more and have one less thing to worry about in the winter!
